History:

Ohio Geocaching was founded in 2014 by a group of four Ohio geocachers (msmandi, TheChad23, OtterOuttaWater, and OnABoat) with the purpose of bringing unity and purpose to all geocachers across the state of Ohio.

When the group was originally created, it was done with the intent of working with state land managers, local tourism boards, and other groups within the state to promote geocaching through cooperation and collaborative projects.

It took a while for us to figure out exactly what to do or how to do it, but in 2019 we got serious again, and the mission was re-focused on creating a state-wide geocaching association for the State of Ohio (similar to already established groups in other states such as MiGO, GGA and others). We believe that a well organized and focused group of geocachers from all over Ohio can really make some great things happen across the state, and that's what we're here to do.

We are currently in the process of planning a state-wide geotour, a few series of challenges, reward and recognition activities, as well as upcoming state-wide events. Stay tuned for more info.
